Germany woke to the sound of a door slamming.
Quickly the young nation sat upright in bed, automatically looking toward the windowthe weakest rays of the morning sun were just beginning to peek through the drawn curtains, intangible fingers reaching out to pry through Germany's bedroom and cast a weak amber glow to the furniture. Germany pushed back the covers, shivering slightly in his thin pajamas; if the early chill was anything to judge by, August was surely here.
